Empathy drives the work I want to make. Focus keeps it honest. Whether I’m creating characters, shaping a production, or penning a song, I try to bring heart, discipline, and a little daring so stories actually sing.
Hi — I’m Roxanne.
It’s always a little weird writing about yourself in the first person (especially as a writer), but here we are.
I grew up in a house full of music, started acting in my teens, and, like many hopefuls, moved to New York in my twenties to dive into theatre. I trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and that conservatory foundation still shows up in everything I do: timing, focus, and a deep respect for the craft.
My career looks a bit like a patchwork quilt, which I love.
I’ve acted in and directed hundreds of productions, founded a theatre arts department and Thespian Troupe for a school in South Florida, and taught and directed for universities and youth programs. My original rock musical Unraveling (inspired by my upbringing in a family rock band) premiered at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, was produced Off West End in London, and has had multiple regional productions.
I’ve also had an Emmy-nominated lead turn on the children’s TV series Up, Down and Around (BECON TV), and I wrote the theme song for their Emmy-winning series It’s The Write Time.
Music is its own thread through my life. I write soulful pop-rock songs that have placed on major television networks like TLC, National Geographic, Discovery and The CW, co-wrote “Still (I Will Go On)” recorded by members of legendary band Kansas, and have toured and recorded with bands across all styles.
I move easily between piano and guitar, and my musical theatre roots mean I’m as interested in dramatic arc as I am in a hook that sticks.
These strands feed my writing. As a copywriter I write commercial and educational video scripts, webinars, and SEO-driven content. As a journalist I write features, reviews, and stories that try to find the human center of whatever I’m covering.
I like work that changes minds and fills hearts — and I bring organizational grit and attention to detail to make sure projects come together by deadline.

If you want to know more, there’s work to peruse: songs, scripts, articles, and other creative projects.
If you have a project you’re excited about, want to collaborate, or just want to say hi, reach out.
If you want to move an audience and make art that lasts, let’s do it. I’m still that kid who can’t get enough of a good story.
